FAQ

What is the Great Pumpkin weak to?
Insight. Note the trap: the Farm's regular Pumpkin mobs are also Curse-element but weak to Light — the boss flips the answer.
How do you unlock the Great Pumpkin fight?
The Pumpkin Path, unlocked through the Farm. The community wiki records the boss as fought on the Farm after the Path opens; the unlock chain itself is not yet documented.
How fast is the Great Pumpkin?
10 Agility — quicker than most of the documented roster, though faster fights have been recorded since (the Neighborhood Watcher's 16, the Sleep, Demigod's 100). Expect it to act more often than most bosses you have fought before it.

Two things make the Great Pumpkin more than its stat line: it made tempo a boss problem, and it is standing proof that Elderfield does not let you memorize one element answer and reuse it forever.

What makes a 10-Agility boss different?

Location Pumpkin Path (via the Farm)
HP 200
Defense 18 physical / 18 magic
Element Curse
Weakness Insight
Agility 10
Drops Soulfruit Seed (roll 5–6) · Pumpkin · Pumpkin Seed · Magic Jack o’ Lantern

The combat guide teaches that fights are preparation problems — elements, defenses, blessings. The Great Pumpkin adds a fourth axis the stat blocks make blunt: tempo. At 10 Agility it outruns the Hall Monitor’s 7, and only a handful of documented fights act faster — the Pretty Flower’s 15, the Neighborhood Watcher’s 16 and the Giant Man-Fish’s 75 among them. Its stat sheet is otherwise ordinary (200 HP, even 18/18 defenses, 18 attack both ways).

Ordinary numbers plus relentless tempo means the fight’s clock runs at its speed, not yours. Every decision that trades tempo for value — a set-up turn, a late heal — gets punished far more often than it would against the Farm’s other threats like the Soul Swarm at 1 Agility. Play tight: lead with your Insight option, heal early rather than optimally, and respect the sprint.

Why does the small-Pumpkin lesson backfire here?

The Farm’s regular Pumpkin mobs are Curse-element, weak to Light — a pairing the combat guide’s table records. A player who ground those mobs learns “Pumpkins take Light” and walks into the Path carrying that answer. The Great Pumpkin is Curse-element too, but its recorded weakness is Insight. Same element, different flank.

Mutant Shopper variants in the Mall already showed this pattern — flips inside an element family. The Great Pumpkin is the boss-scale version. The transferable rule: the element tells you the family, but the weakness line is the only truth worth building a loadout on. Check the stat card before the fight, not your muscle memory from its smaller cousins.

Where does the Great Pumpkin sit on the ladder?

No achievement names it — like the Soul Swarm and the Gravewarden, it clears no milestone. By the company it keeps — Curse-element kinship with the Farm’s small Pumpkins, numbers far above theirs — it profiles as a mid-game fight; the Catacombs bosses deeper in are far slower but far tankier, so speed here and bulk there are different exams. What clearing it pays is now on the record: a Soulfruit Seed on a roll of 5–6, plus Pumpkin, Pumpkin Seed and the Magic Jack o’ Lantern — the seed being the prize, since Soul Fruit feeds several villagers’ loved lists in the gift guide.
