Do I get anything if I skip the Effigy?
One day a season, the park stops being empty space. The Harvest Festival is Elderfield’s in-world harvest celebration — the day the whole town gathers around a giant effigy with a stomach cavity, and your farm’s output becomes an offering. It is also one of the few events the calendar names precisely, which makes it one of the easiest to plan for.
When and where does the Harvest Festival happen?
| Date | 27th of Harvest (the wiki’s calendar marks the slot as summer) |
| Venue | The local park |
| Anchor | The Greater Harvest Effigy |
| Who’s there | The townsfolk, gathered near the Effigy |
The date follows the same day-of-season clock as the Fishing Contest at the Campsite — that event runs on the 7th and 21st of each season, and the festival closes the month on the 27th. If you keep a seasonal planner, the festival is the fixed point at the end of Harvest: everything you grow that season can be measured against it.
What does the Greater Harvest Effigy pay for a crop?
The mechanic is simple: place a crop offering inside the cavity in the Effigy’s stomach, and the response — seemingly based on the offering’s monetary value — arrives as a reward. The wiki records four responses plus the skip case:
| Effigy response | Reward |
|---|---|
| Slightly appreciated | Fancy Fertilizer Lv3 x5 |
| Somewhat appreciated | Devilberry Seeds x10 + Fancy Fertilizer Lv3 x5 |
| Appreciated | Cleansing Balm x2 + Fancy Fertilizer Lv3 x5 |
| Highly Appreciated | Soulfruit Seed x1 + Cleansing Balm x2 + Fancy Fertilizer Lv3 x5 |
| Nothing offered | No reward |
Read the ladder bottom-up and the design is clear: every tier pays the fertilizer, value adds a second item, and the top tier pays both second items at once. The two prizes worth planning around:
- Cleansing Balm — the farm’s unlock-all resource, the same item that clears Ghost Tentacles off your starting tiles. A Highly Appreciated offering pays two of them, which makes the festival a second documented Cleansing Balm source alongside the mystery tables.
- Soulfruit Seed — grows the Soul Fruit that several villagers love as a gift (gift guide), and the same seed the Great Pumpkin rolls on a 5-6. The festival is the only documented way to earn it with produce instead of a boss roll.
One honest gap: the wiki says the reward is seemingly based on the crop’s monetary value, and records no thresholds. Until the community pins the numbers, the practical read stands — offer the most valuable crop your farm can produce that season.
What do the festival vendors sell?
Two vendors set up for the day:
| Vendor | Stock |
|---|---|
| Seed Vendor | Pea seeds only — 80g each |
| Decoration Vendor | Not documented yet |
The Seed Vendor’s festival stock is a deliberate narrow slice — no full catalog, just Peas. The Decoration Vendor exists in the record with an empty table beneath it, which is the wiki’s way of saying the stall is there and its wares aren’t written down yet. This page updates when that table fills.
How should you prepare for the 27th?
Work backward from the Effigy’s ladder. The whole payoff scales with one number — the value of your best crop — so the season’s real festival prep is ordinary farming: pick the highest-value crop your farming level supports, protect it with scarecrows and fertilizer, and hold the harvest back for the 27th instead of shipping it. The tiers above tell you what the offering is worth; the calendar tells you when to cash it.
Skip the day entirely and nothing breaks — no reward is the documented cost of an empty hand. But a festival that pays out a Soulfruit Seed and two Cleansing Balms for a crop you were growing anyway is the best trade rate in the season, and it only stands for one day.
