Hall Monitor Boss Guide - The Most-Cleared Wall

FAQ

What is the Hall Monitor weak to?
Curse. The Hall Monitor is an Insight-element enemy with a documented Curse weakness, so Curse-element attacks are the fastest way through its 150 HP.
Where is the Hall Monitor in the Mall?
In the Mall F1 Hallway — that is the only location the community wiki records for it.
Is the Hall Monitor the most commonly beaten boss?
By the numbers, yes — its slay achievement sits at 23.6%, the highest clear rate of the ten boss milestones.

Every boss milestone in Elderfield has a clear rate; the Hall Monitor’s is the highest. Snooping Around sits at 23.6% — more than one in five players has beaten it — the most commonly cleared named wall in the game.

Where does the Hall Monitor fight happen?

Location Mall F1 Hallway
HP 150
Defense 12 physical / 12 magic
Element Insight
Weakness Curse
Agility 7

The Hallway placement keeps it inside the Mall, where the regular mobs already teach the Curse lesson: Shoppers are Insanity-element and weak to Curse too. The Hall Monitor swaps its element to Insight but keeps the same open flank, so whichever Curse option you carried past the shelves still works here.

How do you beat the Hall Monitor?

Two numbers run this fight:

  • 150 HP against a Curse weakness. The combat guide covers how weakness hits multiply damage; a Curse-element option into a Curse weakness is the single biggest lever available, and 150 HP is a small bar to begin with.
  • 7 Agility is the real threat. Most of the boss stat blocks documented so far sit at 0–2 Agility; the Hall Monitor acts far more often. A fast boss with 10 Attack and 10 Magic Attack both ways means the fight is a race — its defense (12/12, perfectly even) offers no side to exploit, so your damage type matters less than your tempo and healing.

Practically: open with your Curse option, keep healing ready rather than greedy, and if the race goes badly, leave. Retreat costs nothing in Elderfield — the same lesson the harder Mall boss — the Mall Administrator, at 300 HP — teaches.

What does clearing the Hall Monitor get you?

The Snooping Around achievement — the first rung of the ten-boss ladder in the achievements guide — plus the wiki’s newly recorded loot: a Thief’s Ring, tagged in the drop list with “+1 action point.” More tempo to spend is exactly what a 7-Agility world rewards, so slot it before the next fight. From here the trail runs upward through the Mall Administrator’s Ultimate Shopper (17.7%) and out of the Mall entirely: the Old Woods pair, the Catacombs pair, and the four Emissaries at the 0.1% floor. The drop from 23.6% to 17.7% between this fight and the next is where the first wave of players falls off the ladder.
