FAQ

What is ELDERWEEN?
ELDERWEEN is the official Welcome to Elderfield community event series for October 2026. Announced on October 5, 2026 via the game's Steam news feed, it runs three competitions on the official Discord server: sticker & emoji submissions, a pumpkin carving competition and a writing competition.
Do the ELDERWEEN events add new in-game content?
No. The announcement describes Discord community events only — no patch, no new items and no version bump accompany it. The game's latest build remains v1.0.2a, released September 23, 2026.
When do the ELDERWEEN events run?
Sticker & emoji submissions run October 5–26, 2026; the pumpkin carving competition runs October 12–29, 2026; the writing competition runs October 12 to November 2, 2026. All three live on the official Discord.
How do you enter the ELDERWEEN events?
Join the official Welcome to Elderfield Discord (the invite link is in the October 5 announcement) and post in the matching channel: #emoji-submissions for stickers and emojis, #pumpkin-carving for carved pumpkins, #writing-comp for writing entries.
What can you win?
Every entrant receives the @Elderween Discord role. Fan favourites go further: winning stickers and emojis get added to the server itself, top pumpkin carvings get featured on the official Welcome to Elderfield social media, and top writing entries earn a physical Elderfield postcard and stickers sent to their author.
What can you submit to the writing competition?
Any form of writing — a poem, fanfiction or a novella — as long as it is inspired by Welcome to Elderfield. Entries go to the #writing-comp channel between October 12 and November 2, 2026.
Is Elderfield in the Cozy After Dark showcase?
Yes — the developers announced on October 9, 2026 that Welcome to Elderfield would appear in the Cozy After Dark showcase on October 12, 2026, streaming live at 18:00 UTC on Twitch (cozyafterdarkshow) and IGN. It is a streamed showcase appearance, not an in-game event.

October 2026 is ELDERWEEN: the official Welcome to Elderfield community event month, announced October 5, 2026 on the game’s Steam news feed and run entirely on the developers’ Discord server. Three competitions run through the month — stickers and emojis, pumpkin carving, and writing — each with the @Elderween Discord role for every entrant and extra rewards for fan favourites. This page tracks the windows, the channels and the prizes, plus the season’s official appearance outside Discord: the Cozy After Dark showcase on October 12.

What Is ELDERWEEN?

ELDERWEEN is the developers’ name for their October 2026 community series — “the spookiest month” for a cozy horror farming game, run as three competitions on the official Welcome to Elderfield Discord. It is a fan-community celebration rather than a game update: the announcement promises nothing in-game, and the game’s build remains v1.0.2a.

The three events at a glance:

Event Window Channel Fan-favourite reward
Sticker & emoji submissions October 5 – October 26, 2026 #emoji-submissions Added to the Discord server
Pumpkin carving competition October 12 – October 29, 2026 #pumpkin-carving Featured on official social media
Writing competition October 12 – November 2, 2026 #writing-comp Postcard & stickers mailed to you

Discord Sticker & Emoji Submissions (October 5 – October 26, 2026)

The first window opened with the announcement itself: submit Discord sticker or emoji designs to the #emoji-submissions channel. Every entrant earns the @Elderween role, and the fan favourites are added to the server itself — your artwork becoming part of the community’s day-to-day chat.

As of October 24, this window is open, with 2 days left to submit.

Pumpkin Carving Competition (October 12 – October 29, 2026)

The most seasonal of the three: carve a pumpkin, submit a photo to #pumpkin-carving between October 12 and October 29. All entrants get the @Elderween role, and the top fan favourites are featured on the official Welcome to Elderfield social media accounts — a fitting contest for a game whose launch reception leaned on its atmosphere.

The window opened October 12 and runs through October 29.

Writing Competition (October 12 – November 2, 2026)

The longest window of the three accepts any form of writing — a poem, fanfiction, a novella — as long as it is inspired by Welcome to Elderfield, submitted to #writing-comp. Every entrant gets the @Elderween role; top fan favourites receive a physical Elderfield postcard and stickers sent to them by the developers.

For inspiration, the game’s own cosmology runs deep: the gods guide covers the eight-god alignment system the story hangs on, and the mysteries pages collect the town’s stranger corners. If the writing bug sticks, the beginner guide is where a first playthrough starts.

How Do You Enter?

All three events live on the official Discord server — the invite button is in the ELDERWEEN announcement post on Steam. Once inside:

  1. Pick your event’s channel: #emoji-submissions, #pumpkin-carving or #writing-comp.
  2. Post your entry inside that event’s window (see the table above).
  3. The @Elderween role lands with every entry; fan favourites are picked from the submissions.

The Cozy After Dark Showcase (October 12, 2026)

The spooky season also reaches beyond the Discord server: on October 9, 2026, the developers announced on Steam that Welcome to Elderfield would appear in the Cozy After Dark showcase, streaming live on October 12, 2026 at 18:00 UTC on Twitch and IGN. The post invited viewers to shout out their favourite Elderfield villagers in the live chat.

Like the ELDERWEEN events themselves, the showcase appearance is community-facing rather than a game update — nothing in the announcement patches items, balance or the version number.

Is There Anything New In-Game?

No. ELDERWEEN is a community celebration, not a content drop — the announcement attaches no patch, no items and no version change. The game’s latest build remains v1.0.2a (September 23, 2026); the patch trail since launch — v1.0.1 through v1.0.2a — is documented on the affected pages, most recently the mining guide’s hotfix notes. When the developers ship the next update, it will get its own coverage here.
